Contract Awarded For IKEA Russia’s New DC

Jungheinrich is to provide the handling systems for IKEA Russia’s new distribution centre.

A 45-metre high, high-bay warehouse measuring 200m in length and 130m in width, the store will offer a total of 210,000 pallet locations.

Jungheinrich will act as general contractor for all intralogistics equipment installed at the new DC – which is located 50km north-west of Moscow – while also performing the role of systems integrator.

It is the biggest individual project ever undertaken by Jungheinrich and is due to be completed in 2017.
